No matter how well you surf, whether you are a beginner and your goal is to get surfing confidently and independently, or you are a more accomplished surfer who is looking to improve your drop, turns, speed management and overall technique, our professional coaches will help you notch it up a level or two.

At Verdad's Surf Camp, the first thing we do is assess your current skills, so we know what we need to do to bring you to the next level from the get go. If you’ve had a bit of experience before you come here, we’ll start out by coaching you through our local breaks, helping you understand how to find the right spots to paddle out to and where to position yourself beyond the break, so you can time and catch the absolute best rides.

 For those who are just learning to surf, we give you a full rundown of the basics both on land and in the water. By the end of the week you'll be able to consistently and effectively paddle out and catch waves, cuz that's what you came here to do!

THE VERDAD DIFFERENCE - SAND BAR SURF

Our coaching team is unique in the area. We work exclusively with the locally owned and operated Sand Bar Surf School, headed up by Wesley Bermudez. All of the coaches that work with Sand Bar are certified instructors with many years of experience coaching. They are also ISSA/ILA water rescue certified. Everyone on the team has competed nationally, and sometimes they still do! They also often judge local competitions, so you can be sure they know a thing or two about technique.

Sand Bar Surf's coaching technique is unique too. We break down your week of surf coaching specifically to help you learn, improve and progress quickly. Verdad's Surf program, in conjunction with Sand Bar, includes 1:1 training and analysis for each student. We also incorporate photo and video analysis into your daily lessons, giving you visuals that show you exactly what you are doing right and wrong, and showing you what need to work on to confidently ride the waves that match your skill level.

With a professional background in instructing and a passion for surf, Sand Bar's coaches know that incorporating surf theory and technique both in and out of the water, is super important. Unlike other surf camps, Sand Bar doesn't just take you out into the water, and push you into the waves at the right time. The coaches pay close attention to your individual level of expertise, and work with you one-on-one to improve your knowledge and skills. They want you to take what you learn with you wherever you go, not to make you dependent on having a coach by your side in the water. Come share their stoke!
