Seeking Wellness Through These Uncharted Times

Now more than ever, we all need to practice a little more self-care and at home wellness, as we settle into our new norm. Here at Verdad we are committed to the safety and well-being of our guests and team. We’re taking time each day to stay active and positive through these tough times and invite you to do the same!

With these efforts in mind, we tapped into our new Director of Wellness, Megan Hoeffner, who will head all fitness and wellness initiatives here at Verdad, to share some tips and notes to help guide us through these tough times.

How are you processing the current global situation?

As a collective we are being asked to let go of the gripping control of our lives and fall into a deep sense of trust that this is all for a higher purpose, that this too shall pass, and that we will rise on the other side stronger, more unified, and with the purest of intentions moving forward into the future. So I am using this time and free energy to fuel the most positive & radically expansive transformation into love, light, integration, connection, gratitude, & stoke for the second half of 2020!

What are some key practices you are using to maintain peace and positivity during these uncomfortable times?

It is super important to not only be aware of our emotions right now but even more so to protect ourselves from outside energies that are being emitted at a very high frequency into the world at this time.

To keep myself happy, healthy, mentally strong & well I’ve been dropping deeply into my self-care rituals and staying consistent with my morning routine - which consists of a 5am wake up call, followed by 3 hours of “me time.” The only real rule I abide by is no screen time for the first 3 hours of my day. By eliminating all outside influences I really get the chance to connect with myself and see what I want to do, say, feel, etc.

How are you making sure you nourish your body every day?

I’ve made a conscious effort to keep up my personal journaling every day and set aside time to read some sort of personal development book and listen to my meditation tracks, which now span about 1.5 hours.

I’ve taken this time to rest, not push, and just surrender. Something magical is waiting on the other side, just trust, this too shall pass and it’s all for a higher purpose.

MEET MEGAN!

We are excited to announce a new member of our Verdad family, Megan Hoeffner - who will join us as our Director of Wellness!

“I LOVE to teach it is what I was created to do”

Megan’s love for travel and exploring new cultures landed her in Nicaragua over three years ago, where she fell in love with our beautiful country’s healing power.
