Fish and Boat
Launch from Playa Ostional (about 20 minutes from us) or right here at Playa Escameca (if the weather co-operates). As the boat travels along the beautiful coastline between Nicaragua and Costa Rica. You will see the abundant wildlife that live in these waters including giant sea turtles, dolphins, and of course pelicans. A few or our guests have even been lucky enough to see humpback whales.
As we head back to shore, you can try wake surfing while taking in the sites, or continue fishing. We will filet anything you catch, so you can bring it back to Verdad for the chefs to prepare for your dinner. Fishing gear included with all boat trips.
Snorkel and Scuba
Our boat captain can also take you to one of our secret snorkeling and dive locations. If your aren't PADI certified, we're now offering Discovery Dives as an add-on, too. Guests can also try spearfishing. When you return to the boat, we'll serve freshly made ceviche and drinks, and you can chill either on board, or an a float tethered to the boat.
Surf
Depending on your level of skill, we can either guide you to the right break or you can opt for surf lessons taught by one of our professional coaches from Sand Bar Surf School. Lessons start out up here at Verdad on land learning surf technique, then we head down to the beach and get you up on the waves. Our coaches are truly awesome and can help both beginners and advanced surfers alike.
Horseback
Choose how you want to explore the undeveloped and untouched landscape that surrounds Verdad. Ride horseback with the professional rider at Big Sky Ranch, where you will saddle up at their home base just 10 minutes north of us, and set out into the mountains or head to the beach to gallop full speed along the shore...
Zip-Line
Maybe you prefer your speed on a zip-line? We can take you over the the private reserve at Parque Aventuras Las Nubes just outside to the town of San Juan Del Sur for a canopy tour that offers a treetop view of wildlife from not only zip-lines, but a suspended stair-bridge, and an expansive viewing platform.
Hike
You can also take in the tropical forest on a hike, heading out from us over the sea cliff to Playa el Coco, a peaceful white sand beach one cove over from us. From summer to early winter, we also go on a hike to some hidden waterfalls, that's not to be missed!
STAY
Verdad Nicaragua
We want to be sure you have ample time to immerse in all that we have to offer, so we recommend a minimum five-night stay for our packages, though you can surely stay longer if you wish, there is a lot to do! Each night, after a day of activities, you'll be lulled to sleep listening to the sound of the ocean in one of our architecturally designed accomodations.
Our food philosophy at Verdad Nicaragua is centered around fueling your body properly for the activities you choose. We use fresh and local ingredients. and our chefs create delicious and nutritious meals that cater to every kind of dietary need. We enjoy all of our meals family-style, either in the open-air dining area or poolside.
